Hosted directly within the Personr platform, Compass can be asked anything, from program questions to rejection reasons.
It answers from a business's own compliance documents, cross-checked against the AML/CTF Act, with every response fully referenced so customers know exactly where the answer came from.

Personr Co-Founder Charlie Westerman said the release comes at exactly the right time.

What sets Compass apart, Mr. Westerman adds, is that it understands the context around a firm’s own program and policies, not just the Act itself.
"So when you ask it something, it points you to your actual next step, not a generic regulatory reference," he said.
"You can open it on any individual or entity and get case-specific answers instantly. And on top of that, it can track your program health by comparing your current setup against AUSTRAC's requirements and flags exactly what's missing."
Privacy and security by design
Privacy and security remain central to how Personr builds. Compass is a locally hosted compliance model running inside Personr's own infrastructure.
Personr Co-Founder Nick Ahrens explains that customer data never leaves the Personr environment and never touches an external AI service.
"We've also built it as ask-only access. That means Compass does not access your data unless you ask it a question. It doesn't browse, and it doesn't train on your documents. You're in complete control,” Mr. Ahrens said.
"Compass points you in the right direction. It doesn't take the wheel. Every recommendation goes to a person who remains accountable for it, and we built it that way deliberately,” he said.
“In a regulated industry, the point isn't to remove human judgment, it's to make sure whoever is exercising it can see the whole road."
